Blessing
Every night before going to bed the mother went into her children’s rooms to make sure that everything was in order while they slept. She lovingly arranged the sheets and covers, kissed them and whispered in their ears how much she loved them, how important they were to her and entrusted them to God’s care. She did this night after night, year after year, for an eternity, without noticing that at some point the children had grown and left home. And even now, the mother repeats this solemn, loving ceremony each night, blessing her children, without being aware of her own death years before.
